Papereights
The Paperweights are a fascinating study of the optical illusions created by a significant difference in the wall thickness of glass similar to the magnifying effects of a lens.
In the Bubble Paperweights trapped air bubbles and a hollow colored bubble enhance and highlight this alluring curiosity. Using a type of optic mold, a diamond point plate, small depressions are made into the surface of the hot glass creating a grid pattern. Gathering clear glass over these depressions causes air bubbles to become trapped. The gathering process is continued until the desired size is achieved.
Also available with a Vortex color swirl without the bubble grids.
